More Collage and Painted Transcription of Collage

This collage like the last is meant to be funny and a bit odd, even slightly morbid,  using the folds of a belly and an awkward hand for shape. I still wanted these parts to be vaguely recognizable, which I think they are. I really like the use of negative space here.

I think this (below) is the most successful part of the collage, as the shapes are most interesting here. I like the all the curves in the black, yellow, and flesh working together. There seems to be fluidity here, and again the negative space (yellow) is interesting and creates good shapes within itself.

For the corresponding painting I wanted to try a different, more linear and sightly less simple approach to this one (as compared to the previous collage/painting). There is meant to be a slightly unsettling feeling in these pieces, which I think I achieved well in the collage, but lost in the imagery of the painting. I do still find the colors to be unsettling, as they are seemingly overly cheerful with an underlying darker tone. I like some of the more detailed line work in white and black on this one as I think it adds shape and dimension to some of the overly simplified shapes.
